Levitate lightweight balls using a high-velocity stream of air. The air pressure under the ball lifts it while the air moving past holds it in place. The fast-moving air stream generates an area of low pressure, pulling the ball back in when you try to remove it. This difference of pressure affecting the ball, called the Bernoulli Effect, is the same force that acts on an airplane’s wing causing lift. Get hands-on by passing the balls between jets of air and examine how the angle of airflow and height of the ball affect stability.
